Poem: Hate

I faced my foe with hate

Stared angrily in his face

My pulse began to race

To reconcile too late

The anger swelled within me

The bitterness was sweet

He stood there, my enemy

He dare not move his feet

Revenge was my desire

This hate at last be ended

Must burn out like a fire

The friendship never mended
