Soul for Sale

I was wandering through the market today

When I spied my soul for sale

A remnant from another time

Hanging by a cross and nail

A gunshot fired

Vague memories imploded

The afternoon beckoned

And my soul was reloaded

You strolled out of the winter sun

On a familiar breeze of grey

You told me you were saving it

For another day
